You will be responsible for creating strong, durable fiberglass components used in the construction of our high-quality marine products.
Job Summary:
The Fiberglass Laminator will be responsible for preparing, laminating, and finishing fiberglass components for our luxury houseboats and floating structures. This role requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that all fiberglass parts meet the company’s high standards for strength, quality, and durability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare molds and materials for the lamination process, ensuring accurate lay-up of fiberglass layers.
- Apply fiberglass resins and coatings to molds, ensuring proper application and thickness.
- Cut, layer, and smooth fiberglass sheets according to technical specifications and project requirements.
- Use hand and power tools to trim, sand, and finish laminated components.
- Inspect and repair any defects or imperfections in fiberglass components.
- Ensure all work meets the company’s quality standards and is completed within production timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are stored and handled safely.
- Follow safety protocols for handling resins, chemicals, and fiberglass materials.
- Work closely with the production team to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent on each project.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Fiberglass Laminator or in a similar role, preferably within the marine, automotive, or construction industries.
- Strong knowledge of fiberglass lamination techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Experience with hand and power tools used in fiberglass trimming, sanding, and finishing.
- Good physical stamina, as the role involves standing, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices when working with fiberglass and resins.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
