We are expanding our team and are looking for a Mold Carpenter to take charge of constructing molds for various components used in the production of our high-end marine products.
Job Summary:
The Mold Carpenter will be responsible for building precise and durable molds used in the production of fiberglass, composite, and wood components for our houseboats and floating structures. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry techniques, mold-making processes, and attention to detail to ensure that the molds meet the exact specifications required for each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct molds for fiberglass, composite, and wood components, following technical drawings and specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble wooden structures used to form molds for production.
- Ensure molds are crafted with precision to avoid defects or inconsistencies in the final products.
- Inspect and maintain molds, making repairs or adjustments as necessary to ensure accuracy and longevity.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure molds meet design and quality standards.
- Work with various materials including plywood, hardwood, and marine-grade materials.
- Operate and maintain woodworking tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and care.
- Perform quality checks on molds and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used in mold production.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Mold Carpenter or in a similar role, ideally within the marine, manufacturing, or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials, specifically for mold construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Experience with fiberglass or composite mold construction is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and working in various environments.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mold-making and carpentry.
